be? >> well shgs s, it is an intere question, because first of all if you look at how polarized the electorate is and how little movement we see coming out of the polls of the conventions and you have to wonder about the return on investment from the parties and the amount of money and the impact that it has and 16 million people not watching fox watched mitt romney's acceptance speech, and for all of that cost and effort that is what you ultimately get? i think that, look, if you are the broader point is that the president has to have a different tone, and there is nothing that is hard to imagine that there is anything triumphant about the acceptance speech this time. he is going to talk about hard fought progress, and argue we are moving in the right direction and we cannot turn back, but the missing piece as i said, is that even the voters willing to concede that what he did prevented the worst, the bottom from dropping out, but few are satisfied with the pace of enomic growth and certainly the income growth, and the biggest challenge for him still i convince people if you give m

v.a.'s policy is delay, deny until we die. what is your response to that? >> i would say there are many veterans out there that love their v.a. care, that absolutely love it. >> reporter: assistant secretary sours says the v.a. is on track to process one million claims this year, and that it paid out nearly $5 billion in compensation last year. adding to delays, the v.a. says many veterans are returning with severe and complex mental injuries, and sometimes file incomplete paperwork. the backlog also increased when thousands of vets were finally allowed to file claims for agent orange and gulf war syndrome. on june 27th this year, mike finally got word his disability claim had been processed, 18 months after he had filed. but mike was awarded only 40% disability, which works out to $659 a month. he got credit for his ptsd but even though he had been diagnosed with a mild traumatic brain injury, by a doctor at the v.a., he was denied coverage for that injury. like so many others, mike and maggie plan to appeal their disability rating, a pcess that could set them back another two yea

u.s. embassy compound in sanaa is one of the most protected sites. not just in the city of s aanaa, the capital of yemen, but practically in all of the country of yemen. i've been to yemen several times, been to sanaa several times. i've been to the u.s. embassy. this site is not easily accessible to anybody. i spoke to activists in sanaa who said they were watching what was going on from rooftops of nearby buildings. they say they were absolutely shocked that this crowd, marching toward the embassy, was able to get as close as they did to the main gate and then that they were actually able to breach the compound. they were flabbergasted by this. they can't understand how yemen security could allow this to happen. in the ensuing hours more than 1,000 security officers surrounded the embassy, went to other parts of the city and tried to repel the crowd. they were using water canons at one point to disperse the crowds. we're told from officials that the situation has calmed sufficiently. now there are only tens of demonstrators outside as opposed to thousands earlier today. in the ev
